Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jay Harrison
Jay Harrison was born November 3, 1982 in Oshawa, Ontario. The third round, 82nd overall selection of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Harrison is a graduate of the OHL's Brampton Battalion.

A steady blueliner, Harrison played four seasons in Brampton and was a member of the OHL's All-Rookie Team in 1999. During the 2001-02 season, Harrison played the majority of the season in Brampton, despite seeing limited action with AHL's St. John's Maple Leafs and the CHL's Memphis Riverkings.

A member of Canada's silver medal World Junior team in 2002, Harrison went on to play the better part of four seasons in the AHL before making his NHL debut with Toronto in January, 2006.

To begin the 2008-09 season, Harrison took his game abroad, he signed with EV Zug of the Swiss National League A. It wasn't long though before the big defenseman would re-join his former club. He finished the season with the Maple Leafs, appearing in seven games for the club.

In the summer of 2009, as an unrestricted free agent, Harrison signed with the Carolina Hurricanes.
