Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Shaone Morrisonn
Shaone Morrisonn was born December 23, 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The 1st choice,19th overall selection of the Boston Bruins in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Morrisonn is a graduate of the Western Hockey League's Kamloops Blazers.

A offensively gifted defenceman, Morrisonn spent three seasons with Kamloops where he was voted the team's Best Defenceman in 2000-01 after establishing a career high in points with 38 (13-25-38).

In 2002-03 Morrisonn spent the better part of the season with the AHL's Providence Bruins scoring 21 points (5-16-21) while suiting up for eleven games with the parent club in Boston. After splitting the better part of the 2003-04 season between Providence and Boston, Morrisonn was dealt to the Washington Capitals along with a first and second round pick for sought after offensive defenseman, Sergei Gonchar.

In Washington, Morrison began to establish himself as a tough, stay-at-home defender. It was even reported that he played much of the 2008 playoffs with a separated shoulder and broken jaw, though he did not miss a game.

On August 2, 2010, Morrison would leave the Capitals in favour of the Buffalo Sabres, signing a two-year deal with the club.
