Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Tom Cavanagh
Tom Cavanagh was born March 24, 1982 in Warwick, Rhode Island. The sixth round, 182nd overall selection of the San Jose Sharks in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Cavanagh is a Harvard graduate.

A hard-working forward, Cavanagh wrapped up his four-year stint in Harvard by leading his team in goals, assists and points. He made his professional hockey debut in 2005-06 with the Cleveland Barons of the AHL after undergoing successful surgery in the off-season. Building on a successful rookie campaign, Cavanagh more than doubled his offensive output during the 2006-07 season with San Jose's new AHL affiliate in Worcester. He bettered those totals during his 2007-08 season and established a new career high in goals with 19, while making NHL debut with the Sharks.
