Jordan Sigalet was born February 19, 1981 in New Westminster, B.C. The seventh round, 209th overall selection of the Boston Bruins in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Sigalet is a graduate of the CCHA's Bowling Green State University.

During his four-year career at Bowling Green the netminder from New Westminster captured numerous honours including; CCHA First All-Star Team (2004), CCHA Second Team All-Star (2005) and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as the top U.S. college hockey player in 2005. The first Bowling Green goaltender to be named a captain of the team in 2004-05, Sigalet completed his collegiate career with a 34-46-16 record and 2.98 goals against average with four shutouts.

Following his collegiate career Sigalet joined the AHL's Providence Bruins in 2005-06 and during that season saw his first action with the parent club in Boston.
