Jeff Deslauriers was born on May 15, 1984 in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. The goaltender was selcted 31st overall by the Edmonton Oilers at the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

In 2004-05 he split his time between the ECHL and the AHL, battling injuries along the way.

Deslauriers joined the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for the 2006-07 season, where he put up impressive numbers that ranked him among the tops in the league.

In October of 2008 Deslauriers made his NHL debut with the Edmonton Oilers and as a result of his strong play, the Oilers three goaltenders vying for the net. Consequently, Mathieu Garon was shipped to the Pittsburgh Penguins, leaving Deslauriers and Dwayne Roloson to guard the net in Edmonton.

In summer of 2011, Deslauriers would sign on with the Anaheim Ducks. He would spend the majority of his time in the Ducks organization in the American Hockey League, appearing in just four games for the club during the 2011-12 season.

On April 3, 2013, Deslauriers was traded to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for future considerations and was assigned to their AHL affiliate, the Houston Aeros.
