Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Barry Brust
Barry Brust was born August 8, 1983 in Swan River, Manitoba. Drafted in the third round 73rd overall by the Minnesota Wild, Brust honed his skills with the WHL's Spokane Chiefs and Calgary Hitmen.

A resilient netminder, Brust was named the WHL Goaltender of the Year in his second season in the WHL after playing 60 games with the Spokane Chiefs and posting a 9.12 save percentage and 2.58 GAA. The following season he was dealt to the Calgary Hitmen where he would record a 12-8-3 record with his new club. After playing his last year of junior hockey, Brust was unable to agree to a contract with the Minnesota Wild. Days after becoming an unrestricted free agent, Brust signed with the Los Angeles Kings on June 9, 2004. As a member of the Kings, he would spend his next two seasons toiling in the minors with the club's AHL and ECHL affiliates in Manchester and Reading respectively.

The Swan River, Manitoba native made his NHL debut with the Los Angeles Kings in 2006-07 and saw action in 11 games with the club. The Kings did not qualify an offer before the start of the following season and as a result, Brust signed with the Houston Aeros of the AHL. After appearing in 43 games with the Aeros, Brust signed a two-way contract with the Minnesota Wild.
