Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Rob McVicar
Rob McVicar was born January 15, 1982 in Brandon, Manitoba. The fifth round, 151st overall selection of the Vancouver Canucks in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, McVicar is a graduate of the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings.

A solid netminder, McVicar played four seasons in Brandon registering 64 wins in his final two seasons with the club before making his professional debut in 2003-04. Over the course of his first two seasons as a pro, McVicar split his time between the ECHL's Columbia Inferno and the AHLs Manitoba Moose.

During the 2005-06 season, the former Wheat King continued to hone his skills in the minors, however, with injuries to the Canucks number one netminder Dan Cloutier, McVicar was called up by the big club and got his first taste of the NHL in the first half of the season.
