Tyler Weiman was born June 5, 1984 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The fifth round, 164th overall selection of the Colorado Avalanche in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Weiman honed his skills between the pipes in the Western Hockey League with the Tri-City Americans.
A reliable goaltender, Weiman capped off his stint in Try City by backstopping the club to an all-time leading 61 win season. He made his professional hockey debut the following season with the Colorado Eagles and helped the club to the 2005 President's Cup Championship. Weiman made stops in Lowell, San Diego, Albany and Lake Erie in the AHL over the next two seasons and was used in a single NHL game with the Colorado Avalanche in their 2007-08 season.
