Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Corey Potter
Corey Potter was born on January 5, 1984 in Lansing, Michigan. A New York Rangers draft pick (122nd overall in 2003), Potter began his professional career in Hartford, playing with the Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League. During the 2008-09 season, Potter got his first taste of life in the NHL, appearing in five games for the Rangers and recording his first NHL goal in a game versus the Carolina Hurricanes.

On July 16, 2010, Potter inked a deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins and would go on to spend the majority of the following season in the American Hockey League with their affiliate in Wilkes-Barre. In the summer of the 2011, once again a free agent, Potter signed with the Edmonton Oilers. He would go on to appear in 62 games for the club the following year. Following a stint in Austria, Potter would re-join the Oilers in 2012.

Limited by injuries during the 2013-14 season, Potter's time in the Oilers organization would come to an end on March 5, 2014. He was claimed off waivers by the Boston Bruins, where he would finish the season. After a year in the Calgary Flames organization spent predominantly in the AHL, Potter signed a professional tryout contract with the Arizona Coyotes prior to the 2015-16 season. He would spend most of the season with the Coyotes' AHL affiliate, the Springfield Falcons, before being traded to the Nashville Predators at the NHL trade deadline.
