Andrew Joudrey was born on July 15, 1984 in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Following two seasons with the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League he would go on to play collegiately at the University of Wisconsin for four years.
Joudrey was selected in the eighth round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals and would make his professional debut for the club's AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, during the 2006-07. As a member of the Bears Joudrey would twice capture the Calder Cup as the AHL's champion.
On July 1, 2011 Joudrey signed as a free agent with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He would spend the majority of his time in the American Hockey League with the Jackets' affiliate, the Springfield Falcons, but would suit up for a single game for Columbus during the 2011-12 season.
