Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Yann Danis
Yann Danis was born June 21, 1981 in Lafontaine, Quebec. A free-agent signing by the Montreal Canadiens in the spring of 2004, Danis is a graduate CJHL's Cornwall Colts and the ECAC's Brown Bears.

For four seasons, Danis tended goal at Brown where he was named to the ECAC's Second All-Star Team in both 2002 and 2003, while earning First Team All-Star honours in his senior year. Along with being named to the ECAC's First All-Star Team, Danis was also named the ECAC's Goaltender of the Year, ECAC Player of the Year and NCAA East First Team All-American.

Coming off impressive collegiate career, Danis joined the Montreal Canadiens organization in the spring of 2004, suiting up for the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs. In his first full season with the club in 2004-05, Danis finished with a 28-17-6 record and 2.34 GAA before making his NHL debut with Montreal in 2005-06. Despite playing in a handful of games with Montreal, the young netminder continued to hone his skills in the AHL.

After a year with the New York Islanders, a year where the goaltender would appear in 31 games when star Rick Dipietro went down due to injury, Danis signed with the New Jersey Devils in the summer of 2009.
