Brandon Dubinsky was born April 29, 1986 in Anchorage, Alaska. The New York Rangers second round, 60th overall choice in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Dubinsky is a graduate of the WHL's Portland Winterhawks.

An aggressive centreman, Dubinsky joined the Portland Winterhawks at the age of 16 and over the course of four years quickly became one of the club's top players. After being drafted by the New York Rangers, Dubinsky joined the club's AHL affiliate in the 2006 AHL playoffs and tallied 5 goals, 5 assists in only 11 games. The following season Dubinsky would appear in 71 games with the Wolfpack and see action in six regular season games with the New York Rangers.

Dubinsky played six solid seasons for the Rangers before he was traded, along with Artem Anisimov, Tim Erixon, and a first round draft pick, on July 23, 2012 for Rick Nash, Steven Delisle and a third round draft pick.

Dubinsky would appear in just 29 games for the Blue Jackets during his first season with the club, scoring two goals and adding 18 assists. The 2013-14 season would be his first full season with the club and Dubinsky contributed 16 goals and 34 assists for 50 points, the second-highest offensive output of his career.

In 75 games for the Blue Jackets during the 2015-16 season, Dubinsky found the back of the net 17 times and added 31 assists for 48 points.

Internationally, Dubinsky represented USA at the 2008 and 2010 at the IIHF World Championships as well as the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
