Adam Berti was born July 1, 1986 in Scarborough, Ontario. The third round, 68th overall draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks, Berti honed his skills in the Ontario Hockey League.

A solid two-way forward, Berti spent the better part of four seasons with the Oshawa Generals before the Scarborough, Ontario native was dealt to the Erie Otters in 2005-06. He finished his junior career in Erie, registering 29 points in 39 games and made the leap to the professional ranks of hockey the following season. Originally drafted by the Blackhawks, Berti spent full year in the AHL with the Hawk's AHL affiliate in Norfolk. In 2007-08, he made his NHL debut in a pair of games with the Blackhawks and also spent time with the club's new AHL affiliate in Rockford and the ECHL's Pensacola Pilots.
