Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Chris Campoli
Chris Campoli was born July 9, 1984 in North York, Ontario. The seventh round, 227th overall selection of the New York Islanders in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Campoli is a graduate of the OHL's Erie Otters.

An offensive defenseman, Campoli played three years in Erie registering 140 points (30-110-140) before making his professional debut with the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the fall of 2004. In his rookie season with the club the former OHLer tallied 49 points (15-34-49) before going on to make his NHL debut with New York in 2005-06.

In the days leading up to the 2009 NHL trade deadline Campoli's time on Long Island would come to an end, he was shipped to Ottawa along with forward Mike Comrie in exchange for Dean McAmmond and a first round draft choice.

In parts of four seasons with Ottawa, Campoli reached the NHL playoffs only once and at the 2011 NHL trade deadline, with the Senators undergoing a complete rebuild, he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Ryan Potulny and a conditional draft pick.
