Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Trevor Gillies
Trevor Gillies was born January 30, 1979 in Cambridge, Ontario. A graduate of the CHL, Gillies played four seasons in the OHL with stops in North Bay, Sarnia and Oshawa before making his professional debut during the 1999-00 season.

A hard-nosed winger, Gillies split the early part of his professional career between the AHL and ECHL before signing with the New York Rangers prior to the 2004-05 season. Upon his arrival with the Rangers organization, the former OHLer spent the entire season with the club's AHL affiliate in Hartford, before being acquired by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the summer of 2005.

After toiling in the minors for six years, Gillies went on to make his NHL debut with the Ducks in 2005-06 while seeing the majority of his action with the AHL's Portland Pirates. After splitting his 2006-07 season between the AHL's Portland Pirates and the ECHL's Augusta Lynx, Gillies signed with the Carolina Hurricanes in July, 2007.
