Greg Jacina was born May 22, 1982 in Guelph, Ontario. A free-agent signing of the Florida Panthers in the summer of 2005, Jacina is a graduate of the OHL.

A burly winger with offensive skill, Jacina played five seasons in the OHL with stops in Guelph, Owen Sound and Mississauga. Throughout his junior career Jacina registered 234 points (85-149-234) before making his professional debut with the ECHL's Augusta Lynx in the fall of 2003. Although he spent the majority of the season with Augusta, Jacina would suit up for 13 games with the San Antonio Rampage before becoming a regular fixture in the San Antonio lineup in 2004-05.

After honing his skills in the minors for two season, Jacina went on to make his NHL debut with Florida during the 2005-06 season while seeing the majority of his playing time with the AHL's Rochester Americans.
