Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Adam McQuaid
Adam McQuaid was born on October 12, 1986 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. A product of the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League, McQuaid was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Before ever joining the Blue Jackets, McQuaid was traded to the Boston Bruins and assigned to the club's AHL affiliate in Providence for his first professional season.

In 2009-10, McQuaid finally got his first taste of NHL action. The big defenseman was called up to Boston and appeared in 19 games for the Bruins, scoring the first goal of his NHL career.

In the 2011 playoffs, McQuaid helped the Bruins to the club's first Stanley Cup championship since 1972. After surviving a first round scare from the Montreal Canadiens, the Bruins steamrolled over the Philadelphia Flyers and endured a seven game battle with the Tampa Bay Lightning en route to the Stanley Cup Final where they would take on the powerful Vancouver Canucks.

The Bruins would defeat the Canucks in a classic seven game series, with McQuaid contributing solid defensive play.
