Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Danny Syvret
Danny Syvret was born June 13, 1985 in Millgrove, Ontario. The third round, 81st overall selection of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Syvret is a graduate of the OHL's London Knights.

An solid defenseman who can contribute offensively, Syvret played three seasons in London registering 122 points (34-88-122) and helping the Knights capture the 2005 OHL and Memorial Cup titles. The OHL's Defenseman of the Year in 2005, Syvret was a member of Canada's gold medal winning World Junior Team in 2005 and went on to make his professional debut in the fall of that same year.

In 2005-06, Syvret spent the majority of the season with the Oilers AHL affiliate in Hamilton while seeing limited action with the parent club.

On June 6, 2008, Syvret was dealt by the Oilers to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Ryan Potulny. Once again he would see limited NHL action, instead spending the majority of his time with the Flyers' AHL affiliate, the Phantoms.

On July 21, 2010 Syvret signed a deal with the Anaheim Ducks as an unrestricted free agent, but he would not be away from Philadelphia long. On November 21, 2010 he was traded back to the Flyers along with Rob Bordson in exchange for Patrick Maroon and David Laliberte.
