Jonathan Sigalet was born February 12, 1986 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Boston's fourth pick, 100th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Sigalet is a graduate of Bowling Green State University. Sigalet's older brother Jordan is a netminder who was drafted by the Bruins in 2001.
An offensive defenceman, Sigalet played two seasons of college hockey at Bowling Green State University before signing a contact with the Bruins. He played his first professional season with the Bruins' AHL affiliate in Providence, and led the team's defensive corps with 36 points. The following season Sigalet made his first appearance in the NHL in a January 9, 2006 game against the Ottawa Senators.
