Goaltender Jeremy Duchesne was born October 17, 1986 in Silver Spring, Maryland. At the time his father, the late Gaetan Duchesne, was playing for the Washington Capitals.

A product of the Quebec Major Junior League, Duchesne was selected in the fourth round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. He made his professional debut for the Flyers' ECHL affiliate, the Dayton Bombers in 2007. He would then split time between the ECHL and AHL until finally making his NHL debut in 2010 in a game against the New York Islanders, where he would come on in relief of starter Brian Boucher.
