Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Tim Kennedy
Tim Kennedy was born on April 30, 1986 in Buffalo, New York. A scoring star for the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL, Kennedy would receive a scholarship to the perennial hockey powerhouse, Michigan State University. As a member of the Spartans, Kennedy was part of the 2007 NCAA Championship team, adding a goal and an assist in the final game.

In June of 2008, Kennedy signed with the Buffalo Sabres and joined their AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates. On December 27, 2008 Kennedy was called up to the Sabres and made his NHL debut in his hometown of Buffalo.

In the summer of 2010, Kennedy was named to Team USA's roster for the World Championships held in Germany. They would go on to finish a disappointing 13th place in the tournament, with Kennedy scoring just once.

On August 30, 2010, he inked a one-year deal with the New York Rangers, but he failed to crack the Rangers' lineup and began the season with the Hartford Wolfpack of the American Hockey League. On February 25, 2011, Kennedy was traded to the Florida Panthers along with a third-round draft pick in exchange for Bryan McCabe.
