Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jhonas Enroth
Jhonas Enroth was born on June 25, 1988 in Stockholm, Sweden. A product of Sodertalje SK of the Swedish Elite League, Enroth was the first European goaltender selected in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft when he was taken in the second round by the Buffalo Sabres.

Enroth made his North American debut for the Sabres' AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates, in 2008 where his goals against Aaverage and save percentage were among the league's best.

During the 2009-10 season Enroth got his first experienced guarding an NHL net. It would turn out to be a bitter sweet however as the Sabres were defeated by the Boston Bruins.

On November 10, 2010, Enroth became the first goaltender in NHL history to have his first two victories come via shootout when he and the Sabres held off the New Jersey Devils.

As a member of the Sabres, Enroth would continue to establish himself as a legitimate NHL starting goaltender. In 2012-13, on a club that finished out of the playoffs, he posted a solid goals against average of 2.60 and a save percentage of .919.

The 2014-15 season saw big change for Enroth as he was traded to the Dallas Stars in exchange for Anders Lindback and a third round draft pick on February 11, 2015. After finishing the season with the Stars, Enroth signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Kings on July 1, 2015.

In the summer of 2016, as as unrestricted free agent, Enroth signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs. His time in Toronto would be short-lived however. He would appear in just six games for the club before being sent to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. On January 11, 2017, Enroth was traded to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a seventh round draft pick.

On the international stage, Enroth was chosen to represent Sweden at the Olympic Winter Games being held in Sochi, Russia in 2014. He and his fellow countrymen would return home with the silver medal.
