Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Michael Caruso
Michael Caruso was born on July 5, 1988 in Mississauga, Ontario. A product of the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League, the sturdy defenceman was selected in the fourth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Florida Panthers.

Caruso would make his professional debut in the American Hockey League for the Rochester Americans during the 2008-09 season. In 73 games for the club he would score once and add nine assists.

Prior to the 2011-12 season the Florida Panthers changed their AHL affiliate to from Rochester to the San Antonio Rampage. As such, Caruso would relocate. In 68 games for the Rampage he would score five times and notch eight assists.

During the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season, Caruso would get his first taste of NHL action. He would suit up in two games for the Panthers, though he would fail to get on the score sheet.
