Peter Leblanc was born on February 3, 1988 in Hamilton, Ontario. After playing three years with the Hamilton Red Wings of the OPJHL, Leblanc was drafted in the seventh round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, 186th overall, by the Chicago Blackhawks.
After being drafted Leblanc would play for the University of New Hampshire, spending four years as a Wildcat before making his professional debut with the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs. On January 31, 2013, Leblanc was traded to the Washington Capitals for Matt Beaudoin, where he would then play for the Hershey Bears.
Leblanc made his NHL debut on April 13, 2014, in the final regular season game for the Washington Capitals, which ended in a 1-0 shootout loss.
On June 12, 2014, Leblanc signed a one year contract to play for Rögle BK of the HockeyAllsvenskan which is the second tier of Swedish ice hockey.
