Wilson signed as a free agent by the Florida Panthers on July 2, 2009 and would appear in two games for the club during the 2009-10 season. Though he failed to record a point in his brief NHL stint, Wilson accumulated an impressive 60 points in 75 games in the American Hockey League and was named to the AHL's Second All-Star Team.
