Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jordan Hendry
Jordan Hendry was born February 23, 1984 in Nokomis, Saskatchewan. The undrafted defenseman honed his skills at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

A hard-working defenseman, Hendry patrolled the University of Alaska Fairbanks' blueline for four seasons. In his third season at the University, Hendry was limited to only three games after he suffered a season-ending knee injury. However, he rebounded the next season and competed in 38 games in what would be his last year in Alaska. He also made his professional hockey debut later that year, competing in 13 games with the Norfolk Admirals. In the summer of 2006, Hendry was signed as a free agent by the Chicago Blackhawks. He would go on to compete in 80 games with their AHL affiliate in Norfolk and continue to develop as a professional hockey player. The following season Hendry made his NHL debut with the Hawks and went on to split his time between Chicago and their new AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs.

He would appear in 43 regular season games for the Blackhawks in 2009-10 as well as 15 playoff games. The season would end triumphantly for Hendry and the Hawks when they defeated the Philadelphia Flyers in six games to capture the club's first Stanley Cup championship since 1961.

On July 1, 2012, Hendry signed a one-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks. He only appeared in two games for the Ducks and was assigned to the AHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals.

On July 12, 2013, Hendry decided to travel overseas and return to Europe by signing a one-year contract with the Straubling Tigers of the DEL in Germany.
