Darcy Campbell was born May 12, 1984. Undrafted, Campbell spent two years of junior hockey in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Canmore Eagles and Olds Grizzlys before moving onto the NCAA in 2004 with the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Following three years of college hockey, Campbell turned pro after he signing as a free agent with the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 24, 2007. He made his NHL debut in the Jackets' lineup three days later in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks. The following season Campbell was dealt from the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Colorado Avalanche at the NHL
