Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jeremy Smith
Jeremy Smith was born on April 13, 1989, in Dearborn, Michigan. A product of the Ontario Hockey League, he was selected in the second round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators.

Smith made his professional debut in 2009-10 with Nashville's affiliates in the AHL and ECHL. After four years in the Predators organization he signed as a free agent with the Columbus Blue Jackets and would join the club's AHL affiliate, the Springfield Falcons, for the 2013-14 season.

After a stop with the Providence Bruins, which included a brief stint on loan to the Iowa Wild, Smith was a free agent once again in the summer of 2016. He signed a deal Colorado Avalanche and would begin the 2016-17 season in the AHL with the San Antonio Rampage. Smith got his first taste of NHL action on February 14, 2017, making 37 saves for the Avalanche in a losing effort against the New Jersey Devils. He would go on to appear in 10 games for the Avalanche as the season came to an end.

On July 1, 2017, as an unrestricted free agent, Smith signed a deal to join the Carolina Hurricanes.
