Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Alec Martinez
Alec Martinez was born on July 26, 1987 in Rochester Hills, Michigan. He was drafted 95th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft out of Miami University.

He made his professional debut for the Kings' AHL minor league affiliate Manchester Monarchs in 2008. The following season he cracked the Kings' opening night roster, but appeared in just four games before being sent down to Manchester.

In 2011-12 Martinez was part of the Los Angeles Kings club that stormed through the Western Conference playoffs and defeated the New Jersey Devils to capture the first Stanley Cup in franchise history. Martinez appeared in all 20 playoff games for the Kings, scoring once and adding two assists.

During the 2013-14 season, the Kings once again made it to the Stanley Cup Final where they would defeat the New York Rangers in five games. The win gave Martinez and the Kings their second Stanley Cup in three years.
