Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Keith Aulie
Keith Aulie spent his entire Western Hockey League career with the Brandon Wheat Kings where he received the Doc Seaman Trophy as the league's top scholastic player in 2007 and served as team captain for the 2008-09 season.

At the 2009 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships held in Ottawa, Ontario, Aulie was part of the gold medal-winning Canadian squad. The win was the fifth consecutive championship for Canada.

Drafted in the fourth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames, Aulie began his professional career with the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League. Just part way through his first professional season, Aulie was part of a blockbuster trade. Along with Aulie, the Flames sent defenceman Dion Phaneuf and Fredrik Sjostrom to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Matt Stajan, Niklas Hagman, Jamal Mayers and Ian White.

Aulie split time in 2010-11 between the Maple Leafs and their AHL affiliate. In 36 games for the big club Aulie scored three times, recorded 61 penalty minutes and was a stable defensive presence.

Aulie's time with the Maple Leafs would come to an end at the 2012 NHL trade deadline. He was sent to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for Carter Ashton.
