Jamie Fraser was on born November 17, 1985 in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada.

Following a junior career with the Brampton battalion and Sarnia Sting of the OHL, he signed with the New York Islanders.

His professional career began with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL and soon progressed to the Islanders' AHL affiliate in Bridgeport.

In 2008-09, Fraser would make his NHL debut with the New York Islanders.
