Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Steve Wagner
Steve Wagner was born March 6, 1984 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Undrafted, Wagner spent three years at Minnesota State-Mankato honing his skills before signing as a free agent with the St. Louis Blues.

A hard working defenseman, Wagner's final season in Minnesota-Duluth saw the Grand Rapids native lead the club in scoring. Shortly after his final game, he joined the Blues' AHL affiliate in Peoria for 14 contests. The following season, Wagner made his NHL debut with the Blues on October 4, 2007. He went on to split his time between the Blues and their AHL affiliate for the remainder of his first full professional season.

On February 11, 2010, Wagner was dealt to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for defenceman Nate Guenin.
