Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Bryan Lerg
Bryan Lerg was born on January 20, 1986 in Livonia, Michigan. He played his collegiate hockey for the Michigan State Spartans where he was twice named the team's offensive player of the year and helped lead the club to the 2007 national championship.

Undrafted by an NHL club, Lerg signed as a free agent with the Edmonton Oilers at the conclusion of his college career. He made his professional debut in the American Hockey League at the conclusion of the 2007-08 season.

After a single game with Genève-Servette HC of the Swiss National liga, Lerg inked a deal with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins and would return to the American Hockey League. After two productive seasons with the Penguins, Lerg was once again a free agent. This time he would sign with the Colorado Avalanche prior to the 2012-13 season. He would join the club's AHL affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters, and was named team captain on October 30, 2012.

On July 10, 2014, Lerg signed a one-year deal with the San Jose Sharks. He was once again assigned to the AHL and was once again named team captain. He would go on to lead the club in scoring in his first year and in the closing days of the 2014-15 season, he would get his first call up to the NHL. On April 9, 2015, Lerg made his NHL debut, scoring his first NHL goal, the game winner, against the Edmonton Oilers.
