Davis Drewiske was born on November 22, 1984 in Hudson, Wisconsin. He stared his junior career with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL before joining the University of Wisconsin, where he would serve as captain in his senior year.

In April of 2008, Drewiske was signed by the Los Angeles Kings and would spend the majority of the 2008-09 season in the AHL before being called up to the big to appear in 17 games, notching three assists.

Drewiske would appear in 20 games for the Kings during the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season, recording a goal and three assists, before being traded at the NHL trade deadline to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a fifth round draft pick.
