Andre Petersson was born September 11, 1990. A standout winger in his homeland, Petersson was selected in the fourth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators. On the international stage, he was twice a member of the Swedish team at the World Junior Championship, capturing silver in 2009 and bronze in 2010.
Petersson made his North American professional debut in the American Hockey League for the Binghamton Senators in 2011-12 and would put up impressive offensive numbers. In 60 games for the club he would record 23 goals and 21 assists for 44 points. His strong play did not go unnoticed and he was summoned by the Senators to make his NHL debut on January 21, 2012 in game against the Anaheim Ducks. It would be the only NHL game Petersson would appear in before being returned to the AHL.
