Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Mark Cundari
Mark Cundari was born on April 23, 1990, in Woodbridge, Ontario. He played four seasons of major junior hockey with the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League. An undersized defenceman, Cundari went undrafted by an NHL club, but was invited by the St. Louis Blues to their development camp in the summer of 2008. Cundari would return to the Spitfires for the 2008-09 season having signed a contract with the Blue. That year he and the Spits would win the first of two consecutive Memorial Cup titles as the Canadian Hockey League champs.

Cundari made his professional debut in the American Hockey League for the Blues' affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen, during the 2010-11 season, tallying 30 points in 60 games. In his third season with Peoria, Cundari was selected to play in the AHL All-Star Game. During the game he was penalized for tripping, the first time in eight years a penalty had been called in the game.

On April 1, 2013, Cundari's time in the Blues organization would come to an end. He was traded to the Calgary Flames along with a package of players and draft picks in exchange for Jay Bouwmeester.

The Flames summoned Cundari to the NHL late in the 2012-13 NHL season. He made his NHL debut on April 21, 2013, against the Minnesota Wild, notching his first NHL goal in the process.
