Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- John Moore
John Moore was born on November 19, 1990 in Winnetka, Illinois. He was drafted in the first round (21st overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Following his junior career in the USHL and OHL, Moore made his professional debut in the American Hockey League for the Blue Jackets' affiliate, the Springfield Falcons, in 2010. In February of 2011 Moore was recalled by Columbus and appeared in his first two NHL games before being returned to the AHL.

In 2011-12, Moore appeared in 67 games for the Blue Jackets, scoring twice and adding five assists.

During the 2012 NHL lockout, Moore returned to the American Hockey League, where he would suit up once again for the Springfield Falcons. He would notch three goals and six assists in 24 games.

When play resumed in the NHL, Moore would rejoin the Blue Jackets. He would appear in 17 games for the club before being traded at the NHL trade deadline to the New York Rangers as part of a package that saw the Blue Jackets acquire Marian Gaborik.

Moore played parts of three seasons with the Rangers before he was traded once again, along with Anthony Duclair, and a first and second round draft pick to the Arizona Coyotes for Keith Yandle, Chris Summers, and a fourth round draft pick.

As a free agent at the end of the 2014-15 season, Moore signed a three year contract with the New Jersey Devils.
