Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Robin Lehner
Robin Lehner was born on July 24, 1991 in Gothenburg, Sweden. A standout goaltender in his homeland, Lehner was drafted in the second round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators and then joined the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League.

Lehner joined the Binghamton Senators for the 2010-11 season and played a key role in the club's run to the Calder Cup title. His sparkling 2.10 goals-against-average and .939 save percentage earned him the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy as the playoffs most valuable player.

In addition to his AHL success, Lehner also made his NHL debut during the 2010-11 season. He saw action in 8 games for Ottawa, recording his first win in his first start on January 13, 2011 against the New York Islanders.

Due to Lehner's inability to win the starting role in Ottawa, he was traded, along with David Legwand to the Buffalo Sabres for a first round draft pick at the 2015 NHL Draft.
