Jesse Blacker was born on April 19, 1991 in Toronto, Ontario. He played his junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League predominantly with the Windsor Spitfires who he helped capture the Memorial Cup in 2009.
Blacker was selected in the second round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs and would make his professional debut for the club's AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, in 2011. He would appear in 58 games for the Marlies, scoring once and adding 15 assists.
On November 16, 2013, Blacker was traded to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Peter Holland and Brad Staubitz. He would join the Ducks' AHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals, appearing in 50 games for the club.
On November 28, 2014, Blacker was recalled by the Ducks made his NHL debut against the Chicago Blackhawks. After just a single game with the Ducks, Blacker was traded to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Colby Robak.
On July 7, 2015, Blacker signed a one-year AHL contract with the Texas Stars.
