Jamie Devane was born on February 20, 1991 in Mississauga, Ontario. The Plymouth Whalers graduate was drafted in the third round, 68th overall, by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Devane played his entire four year OHL career with the Whalers.

After his time with the Whalers, Devane became a professional by joining the Maple Leafs’ AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. The rugged forward would the better parts of three years with the Marlies, adding grit and size into their lineup. He would make his NHL debut with the Maple Leafs at the start of the 2013-14 season where he would play the first two games before being sent back down to the AHL.

On July 12, 2015 Devane was traded to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Taylor Beck.
