Nicolas Deslauriers was born on February 22, 1991 in LaSalle, Quebec. The 6’1 left winger was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the third round, 84th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Deslauriers played three years with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and one year with the Gatineau Olympiques, both of the QMJHL, before turning professional in the Kings’ organization.

The Los Angeles Kings immediately assigned Deslauriers to their AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs, where he would spend parts of three seasons. On March 5, 2014, Deslauriers was traded by the Kings along with Hudson Fasching for Brayden McNabb, Jonathan Parker, and two second round draft picks.

Deslauriers would make his NHL debut with the Sabres in a 2-0 loss to the Florida Panthers on March 7, 2014. Later in the season he would be sent down to the Sabres’ AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans. In the 2014-15 season Deslauriers would make the NHL full time, playing in all 82 games for the Sabres.

During the 2015-16 season, Deslauriers would suit up in 70 games for the Sabres, recording six goals and six assists. On October 4, 2017, Deslauriers' time with the Sabres would come to an end. He was traded to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Zach Redmond.
