Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Ben Chiarot
Ben Chiarot was born on May 9, 1991 in Hamilton, Ontario. The 6í3 defenseman was playing for the OHLís Guelph Storm when he was drafted in the fourth round, 120th overall, by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2009 NHL Entry draft. Chiarot spent four seasons in the OHL splitting time with the Storm, Sudbury Wolves, and the Saginaw Spirit.

By the time Chiarot was ready to sign his first professional contract, the Thrashers had moved to Winnipeg and became the Jets. With the Jets he split time between the ECHLís Colorado Eagles and the Jets AHL affiliate, the St. Johnís IceCaps, in his first year while staying with the IceCaps in the next two seasons.

Due to his good play, Chiarot would make his NHL debut during the 2013-14 season in a 5-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. The following season he would play 40 games with the Winnipeg Jets where he would score his first NHL goal against the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 5-1 victory.
