Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Brandon Bollig
Brandon Bollig was born on January 31, 1987, in St. Charles, Missouri. A product of the USHL, where he played for the Lincoln Stars, Bollig then attended St. Lawrence University before being signed by the Chicago Blackhawks as an undrafted free agent.

Bollig made his professional debut in the American Hockey League for the Blackhawks' affiliate, the Rockford, IceHogs. With Rockford, Bollig began to assert himself as one of toughest players in the league. Racking up 115 minutes in penalties in just 55 games during the 2010-11 season.

Bollig made his NHL debut on February 29, 2012, stepping into the enfourcer role that became vacant when defender John Scott was traded to the New York Rangers. In total, Bollig would appear in 18 games for the Blackhawks during the 2011-12 season and rack up 58 minutes in penalties.

Bollig and the Blackhawks would dominate the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season, rolling through the NHL's regular season and capturing the Presidents' Trophy.

The playoffs were more of the same and though pushed to the limit by the Detroit Red Wings in the second round, the Blackhawks would prevail and eventually earn the fifth Stanley Cup title in franchise history, the first in Bollig's career.

On June 28, 2014, the Blackhawks traded Bollig to the Calgary Flames for a third round draft pick. Bollig would go on to suit up in 62 games for the Flames during the 2014-15 season and 54 games the following year.

On July 4, 2017, Bollig's time in the Flames organization would come to an end. As an unrestricted free agent he signed a deal with the San Jose Sharks. He would appear in 45 games for the Sharks' AHL affiliate, the Barracuda, before finding himself on the move once more. This time traded at the NHL trade deadline to the Nashville Predators.
