Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Carter Hutton
Carter Hutton was born on December 19, 1985 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He tended goal at the collegiate level for the University of Massachusetts-Lowell of the NCAA for four seasons. In his senior year he posted a solid goals-against-average of 2.04.

On June 1, 2010, Hutton was signed by the San Jose Sharks as an unrestricted free agent. He joined the club's AHL affiliate in Worcester the following season. In the summer of 2011, Hutton, again a free agent, signed with the Rockford Icehogs. He would appear in 43 games for the club during the 2011-12 season, picking up 22 wins and posting a solid 2.35 goals-against-average.

On March 26, 2012 the Chicago Blackhawks called Hutton up to replace goaltender Ray Emery who was out due to an illness. On April 27, 2013 he made his first NHL start. Carter would dress for last two regular season games, and first five games of the playoffs. Chicago would go on to win the Stanley Cup and though Hutton was given a Stanley Cup ring, he did not qualify to have his name engraved on the hockey's holy grail.

On July 5, 2013, Hutton left the Blackhawks organization and signed a one-year, deal with the Nashville Predators.

In three season in Nashville, spent predominantly as the backup, Hutton would record 33 wins to go along with a .910 save percentage and 2.55 goals-against-average. In the summer of 2016, Hutton signed a deal with the St. Louis Blues and joined the club the following season.
