Danny Biega was born on September 29, 1991 in Montreal, Quebec. A product of Harvard University, where he spent for years and was named ECAC's best defensive defenceman in 201112, he was selected in the third round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes.

Following his collegiate career, Biega would join the Hurricanes' AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers for a single game at the end of the 2012-13 season. He would spend the entire following season with the club, appearing in 65 games, scoring three times and adding 15 assists.

On March 19, 2015 Biega made his NHL debut in his hometown of Montreal. In total he would appear in 10 games for the Hurricanes during the 2014-15 season, registering a pair of assists.
