Petter Granberg was born on August 27, 1992 in Gallivare, Sweden. The product of the Swedish Elite League was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fourth round, 116th overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
After playing hockey in Sweden for five seasons, Granberg would make the jump to the NHL where he would be assigned to the AHL’s Toronto Marlies. He would play the majority of his rookie season with the Marlies, however the Maple Leafs promote him on April 13, 2014 to the NHL to take part in a 1-0 loss to the Ottawa Sentators.
During the 2014-15 season, Granberg would again play the majority of the season in the AHL, scoring 1 goal and 14 assists in 53 games, though he would make seven appearances with the Maple Leafs that season. On November 22, 2015, the Maple Leafs would put Granberg on waivers where the Nashville Predators would claim him.
On the international stage, Granberg has represented his native Sweden four times which are highlighted by a Gold Medal performance at the 2012 World Junior Championship and a Gold Medal performance at the 2013 IIHF World Championship.
