Kenny Agostino was born on April 30, 1992 in Morristown, New Jersey. The product of the Yale Bulldogs was drafted in the fifth round, 140th overall, by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

During his junior year at Yale, the Bulldogs would win the 2013 Frozen Four Tournament by defeating the Quinnipac Bulldogs 4-0. This would be the first NCAA team championship in Yale’s history in any sport. At the conclusion of the year he would be named to the All-ECAC Second team for 2013.

During the Frozen Four Tournament, the Penguins would trade Agostino’s rights along with Ben Hanowski and a first round draft pick to the Calgary Flames for Jarome Iginla.

At the conclusion of Agostino’s NCAA career he would be named to the All-ECAC Third Team for 2014 as senior. Upon his graduation the Calgary Flames would immediately give him a shot at the NHL where he would make his NHL debut on March 21, 2014 in a 6-5 loss to the Nashville Predators.

In his first full season as a professional hockey player, the Flames would assign him to their AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Flames where he would play the entire 2014-15 season.

As a free agent in the summer of 2016, Agostino signed with the St. Louis Blues. He would spend the 2016-17 season predmoninantly in the American Hockey League with the Chicago Wolves and would find himself a free agent again the following summer. On July 1, 2017 he signed with the Boston Bruins.
