Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Petr Mrazek
Petr Mrázek was born on February 14, 1992 in Ostrava, Czechoslovakia. A standout goaltender playing minor hockey in his homeland, Mrázek would then join the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League during the 2009-10 season.

Mrázek was selected in the fifth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings. He would go on to represent the Czech Republic at the 2012 World Junior Championship where he was named the tournament's best goalkeeper.

In 2012-13 Mrázek would make his professional debut as a member of the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL. Injuries and strong play expedited the goaltender's rise in the ranks as after just three games, Mrázek would join and spend the majoiry if the season with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. Mrázek made his NHL debut with the Detroit Red Wings on February 7, 2013 in a game against the St. Louis Blues. He made 26 saves guiding Detroit to a 5-1 victory. He would see action in one more game for Detroit before being returned to Grand Rapids. By virtue of his play for Toledo, Grand Rapids and Detroit, Mrázek became just the second goalie in history to win his first game in the ECHL, AHL, and NHL all in the same season.

Upon his return to the AHL, Mrázek would lead the Griffins into the post-season and beyond, playing a key role in Grand Rapids' first ever Calder Cup championship.

Mrazek made his Stanley Cup playoffs debut on April 16, 2015, against the Tampa Bay Lightning. He made 44 saves on 46 shots to help lead the Red Wings to a 3–2 win. Days later, he recorded his first career playoff shutout and on April 25 his second, becoming just the third goalie ever to record two shutouts in a playoff series.
