Oscar Klefbom was born on July 20, 1993 in Karlstad, Sweden. The product of the Swedish Elite League was drafted in the first round, 19th overall, by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

After playing four season in Sweden, Kelfbom would make the jump to play hockey in North America. The Oilers would assign him to play for their AHL affiliate, the Oklahoma Barons, to start the 2013-14 season. Near the end of the season, the Oilers would promote Klefbom to the NHL where he would make his debut on March 11, 2014 in a 4-3 shootout victory.

During the 2015-16 season, Klefbom would play the majority of the season in the NHL, appearing in 60 games for the Oilers scoring 2 goals and 20 points.

On the international stage, Klefbom would represent his native Sweden four times which is highlighted by a Gold Medal performance at the 2012 World Junior Championship. In that tournament he would also be named a WJC First Team All-Star.
