Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- David Musil
David Musil was born on April 9, 1993 in Calgary, Alberta. He comes from an athletic family. His father, Frank, played nearly 800 NHL games, his uncle, Bobby Holik, was a two-time Stanley Cup winner with the New Jersey Devil and his mother, Andrea, was an accomplished tennis player.

David played his junior hockey with the Vancouver Giants and the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League. He was selected in the second round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers and would make his professional debut for the club's AHL affiliate, the Oklahoma City Barons, in 2013-14.

After two seasons spent primarily at the AHL level, Musil would get his first taste of NHL action in 2014-15. He suited up in four regular season games for the Oilers, recording a pair of assists.

Despite being born in Canada, Musil represents the Czech Republic in international play. Twice (2012 & 2013) he helped his homeland to fifth place finishes at the World Junior Championship.
